Destiny

I spent the afternoon threading my loom for our second project. We will be experimenting with six different weave structures. Each person threaded their loom for a specific structure and we will move around to each loom to weave a sample of each. My loom is threaded for New Canaan Check which I cant find anywhere online, but one variation is a waffle weave, might look something like this...

Doris says that a threaded loom is a metaphor for destiny. The loom is waiting to be woven and it will take hard work, dedication, patience, and time to complete. Weaving is a lot like life... each warp you weave is an event, a lesson learned, a mistake-- but you meet your goal and cut it off the loom to begin what is next. Just a thought. Heres a look at destiny...

I like that thought, reminds me of quote from the book Anne of Green Gables.

"Marilla, isn't it nice to think that tomorrow is a new day with no mistakes in it yet?"
- Lucy Maud Montgomery, Anne of Green Gables

each time we dress a loom we open ourselves to new possibilities that reveal themselves right before our eyes as we weave the fabric of our lives. Interesting too how the dark threads, times of our life, add depth, definition and interesting contrast to both our life and our cloth.
thanks for sharing this thought Melissa enjoy your date with destiny ;~) Carol
