Salzburg, Austria: The Sound of Music

Salzburg, home of The Sound of Music, and a breathtaking city. We arrived in the morning, found our hotel, then went to book our Sound of Music tour of course! Now Austrians dont see what the big deal is, but Americans flock to Salzburg to see where the movie was filmed. So we figured we would do it too! While we waited until it was our time for the four hour tour, we went to another Christmas market and tried some Austrian food (and beer, and probably liver).
We walked through the old city, which was filled with shops and Christmas decorations. As we were exploring, we came across a Jaume Plensa sculpture in one of the courtyards. He was the artist I chose to research from FIAC and gave a presentation on for my art history class in Lacoste, it was so random that we found him in Salzburg!
After some exploring it was time for our Sound of Music tour. Oh man were we in for a treat, including singing! Here is a video of what we experienced... brace yourself.

It wasnt that bad though. We had fun. And we got to see a lot of Salzburg that we wouldnt have seen otherwise. We saw the house and the lake from the movie, the love gazebo, some of the lake towns outside of Salzburg, one being where Maria and Mr. Von Trapp were married, and we enjoyed some tasty apple strudel! After our four hour tour of the Sound of Music, it was time to go get Laras mom from the train station! She made it, we went back to the hotel, then went to see Salzburg at night, get dinner, and enjoy the Christmas markets.
